Kehinde Ishangi holds a BA in Dance Pedagogy from Brenau University (USA) and a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography and Performance from Florida State University (USA). Ms. Ishangi was a classical ballet soloist with Ballethnic Dance Company, a principal dancer with the world renowned Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, a guest artist with the international Ishangi African Dancers, principal dancer with Compagnie James Carlès and the leading African Contemporary dance company in Paris, Compagnie Georges Momboye.
While pursuing her graduate degree she extended her artistic passion to the study of Movement Science and the art and technology that will ensure dancers longevity and health. She is a certified trainer in both STOTT PILATES™ and GYROTONIC® andGYROKINESIS®. She has served as Movement Coach and Conditioning Specialist for Jant–Bi of Senegal, West Africa and Urban Bush Women of New York, USA, and taught conditioning as Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance Science at Florida State University while managing the injury triage between Florida State University and Tallhahasse Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. Before returning to the United States, she was on faculty with one of Europe’s leading ballet academies, L’Académie Américaine de Danse de Paris. Presently, she is on faculty with Tulane University’s Department of Theatre and Dance and is the CEO of The Ishangi Institute of Dance and Movement Science.
